Longines Royal International Horse Show

Families supported by Golden Lion Children’s Trust, together with children in respite care at a local children’s home, had fun visiting the Longines Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead Showground on Thursday 28th or Friday 29th July. Their visits were possible thanks to the kindness of the team at Hickstead, who always make GLCT very welcome.

The children invited all have some connection with Riding for the Disabled. This event is one of the oldest horse-shows in the world… it’s a chance for visitors to see world-class riders and horses compete in the main arena, or watch carriage driving, scurry driving, side-saddle classes, etc in one of several smaller rings.

Families have the freedom to wander round as they wish – picnic in the grounds, visit the fun-fair or simply enjoy the day.

So much to see and do at their own pace, making it ideal for children with special needs.

Thank you Hickstead – and the weather made it an extra special time
