Bikers and Friends at Gatwick Manor Hotel

Bikers and Friends at Gatwick Manor Hotel

Sunday 4th December 2016 was an amazing day for GLCT and for approximately 160 bikers from all over Sussex, plus their pillion passengers, friends and supporters (who travelled on four wheels instead of two) to the Gatwick Manor Hotel.

There they handed over toys, books and games to the charity to use during Christmas in return for hot drinks and mince pies before setting off on their return journeys.

What made this so special? Many bikers and bikes were in festive fancy dress but even more special was the fact that this wonderful group of people from all walks of life have done this for the past 25 years – 23 of those for the Golden Lion Children’s Trust.

In several cases three generations of a family are involved in the event. It’s an incredible support network and one which the Golden Lion Children’s Trust really value.

Thank you to everyone who took part and to the team at Gatwick Manor Hotel for the hospitality.

GLCT Present Wrapping Afternoon

Once the bikers had left the Gatwick Manor Hotel on Sunday 4th December 2016, the rooms were transformed into Santa’s Grotto. GLCT elves sorted, wrapped and labelled four gifts for each child coming to the Late Christmas Party, as well as for siblings too young for that event.

The sacks were loaded onto a MayDay Solutions van ready to be stored at Easistore, Crawley.

Thank you to everyone who helped in any way to make it possible for Golden Lion Children’s Trust to help so many children this way, children who might otherwise not have had much fun at Christmas
