Bluebell Railway ‘Santa Special ‘

Bluebell Railway ‘Santa Special ‘

Children from 8 special needs Sussex schools and units together with children (and family members) from Peanut Ward, Queen Victoria Hospital, E.Grinstead and Chailey Heritage School enjoyed a morning on the Bluebell Railway Santa Special on 1st December 2024 an annual project arranged by Golden Lion Children’s Trust.

From the time school groups arrived at Sheffield Park station to the time they left, GLCT escorted them through their visit.

Helpers included GLCT Coach Captains; Chris, the accordionist, and Louise; West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service personnel including the Technical Rescue Unit; and of course our own Santa together with our GLCT elf.

School groups boarded the steam train to enjoy a magical morning in their allocated seating areas, and it wasn’t long before each child received a present from you-know-who!

“Thank you for a lovely trip on the Bluebell Railway. I know the children had an amazing time”

A really magical start to the festive celebrations for everyone!!
