‘Mary Poppins Returns’

GLCT worked with Cineworld Crawley to provide relaxed screenings of the film ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ on 14th and 18th January 2019 for pupils from QEII School, Horsham; Woodlands Meed, Burgess Hill and Manor Green Primary, Ifield.

A relaxed screening is where the film volume is reduced and lighting is not as low as usual so children with special needs adapt more easily to enjoy the experience. The subject of the film is often used in art, drama, story-telling, etc in the children’s lessons. And to assist school staff several business partners gave up a morning to help with the visit.

Do cinema visits matter to children and schools?

One teacher wrote “ … The children couldn’t stop talking about the film …”

Another wrote “… a huge thank you. Everyone’s kind efforts made seeing Mary Poppins Returns a memorable experience ….There were many positive comments from the students about the film…”
