The Golden Lion Children’s Trust was founded mainly by people who worked at Gatwick Airport.
It was a real surprise when one of our supporters arranged for GLCT to spend 27th June 2019 as guests of TUI Airways at their Gatwick Flight Training Centre with pupils from Grove Park College, Crowborough.
We started in the classroom meeting crew members and hearing about the work they do.
Each pupil received a gift and a certificate
Then to the ‘hangar’ to have a close look at the aircraft before boarding.
Students were allowed to choose our ‘destination’ before we listened to the safety briefing from crew members.
Some students took turns to deliver that themselves to other ‘passengers’.
Others visited the flight deck, and received instructions from the Captain or the First Officer.
Hearing one of the pupils would love to work for an airline the crew arranged a really special presentation with some words of advice which the whole group enjoyed …
